Project Overview

This project involved the build and installation of a new kitchen within a historic cottage in Bungendore, NSW.

Completed privately for the homeowners, the kitchen formed part of the broader renovation of the property and required careful installation within an older home where existing walls, floors and openings were not always perfectly square or level.

The project reflects the approach behind Melzer H.C. Building Co. — careful fitment, attention to detail and practical craftsmanship that works with the existing building rather than against it.

The Work

The kitchen was carefully built and installed to create a functional modern space while remaining sympathetic to the character of the original cottage.

Working within an older building required individual components to be measured, adjusted and fitted to suit the existing conditions. Particular attention was given to cabinetry alignment, junctions, finishing details and the overall integration of the kitchen into the surrounding home.

The result was a clean, practical kitchen designed for everyday family use while maintaining a considered connection to the character of the house.

Why It Matters

This project demonstrates the value of careful measuring, problem-solving and attention to the small details that ultimately determine the quality of a finished kitchen.

Project Note
